![]() Tasting Re-cap! Friday, March 9th, 2018 Wines of the Loire with Kendall Koehler from Elite Wines The diverse, unique wines of the Loire Valley refresh the palate and stir the soul. The Loire River is treacherous to sail, and along the banks you'll find caves and misty vineyards etched into the tuffeau, the rolling hills of Sauvignon Blanc in Sancerre, and the castles of Chinon. In this tasting we explored a terroir study of Sauvignon Blanc by comparing Sancerre side-by-side with Quincy. Then we tried a dense, rich Chenin Blanc, followed by a Loire-indigenous grape, Grolleau. We finished with a Cabernet Franc celebration from two iconic Loire producers, Thierry Germain, and a surprise producer.
