Meet the group in Queenstown, where we will spend three days in the shadows of the snow-capped Southern Alps, exploring Queenstown, Dunedin, and Waitaki. Then, we’ll travel to Canterbury/Christchurch and see New Zealand’s famous Pegasus Bay– a mix of rolling rural landscapes, and the city-feel of Christchurch. We’ll head up the coast to spend two days in relaxed Blenheim, where the famous Marlborough wine region is. Then, we’ll go to semi-secluded Nelson, where an incredible artistic movement is underway. The group will depart from Nelson, after an
immersive 10 days in New Zealand culture, wine, and food!
Adventure Level: Medium - we’ll visit vineyards, but there will be no strenuous activities. The activities are on the low-adventure scale, but we will be traveling to several different regions to truly explore the South Island, and being on the move makes this more of a medium-adventure trip.
Meals: will be a mix of fancy, casual, and in-between.
Clothes: New Zealand is pretty casual. We’ll have one fancier dinner if you choose to dress up. You will want sneakers or boots for visiting the wineries. Must: must have sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen– Central Otago is under a hole in the ozone layer! So you’ll want to protect yourself from the higher levels of UV light.
